LISTEN The Circus Collection is a collection of 8 original piano pieces ranging in ability from early intermediate to late intermediate; I consider Dmitri Kabalevsky's Clowns an intermediate level piece. The rhythmic and melodic qualities of these pieces really add to their appeal. Although their harmonies are fairly conservative, they do have some very mild dissonances. Children 8-13 will find them especially appealing and fun to play. One of the interesting features of The Circus Collection is that Circus Time! and Finale! contain themes and musical ideas from the other pieces in the collection.
