Although composing is a relatively recent adventure for me, my formal compositional studies include composition and electronic music with Dr. Larry Nelson and counterpoint with Dr. Harry Wilkinson at West Chester University. After grad school, my ears received a workout during my studies with Ran Blake who is known for his Earobics training program at the New England Conservatory. My creative juices were further unlocked through my Dalcroze and Eurhythmics experiences with Lisa Parker and Anne Farber. I have fond memories of practicing long hours with Sabrina during our brief, but very intensive, study of piano improvisation with Lisa Parker. Very recently, I began working with Charlie Banacos who is often referred to as the guru of jazz piano instruction; he is also known for his EarSTraining exercises. Perhaps my greatest source of inspiration for composing has come from my students: all of my students, past and present. The Circus Collection is now available. For more info... |
