What can parents do to help prepare their children for private piano lessons?
Listen to a wide variety of music. In order to provide a balance to the amount of pop music that the average person hears in our society, families should try to listen to folk, jazz, world and classical music as frequently as possible.

Sing together! Encourage your children to sing; there are many recordings of children's music available. I strongly recommend that young children participate in Music Together or Dalcroze and Eurhythmics classes. These are group classes which involve music and movement. They provide an excellent foundation in various musical skills -and they are fun!
